One Day. One Purpose. One Lander.
EXCELLENCE "GREATEST NEEDS" FUND GENERAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND BEARCAT ATHLETICS
Lander University is participating in Giving Tuesday with a 24-hour fundraising campaign. Gifts made to the University on the annual global day of giving — this year on Nov. 28 — can lead to a better future for our students, campus community and beyond.
Created in 2012, Giving Tuesday is a global generosity movement celebrated on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. It puts a philanthropic spin on the retail rush of Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Each year, Giving Tuesday highlights the power of people coming together to make a positive difference in our communities and the world.
We encourage our alumni, parents, students, faculty, staff and friends to consider Lander when participating in Giving Tuesday this year. Together as #OneLander, we can fund scholarships for deserving students, support Bearcat athletic teams, and invest in initiatives that build a better future for our students, South Carolina, and our global community.
Here are four things you should know about Giving Tuesday at Lander:

Gifts to the Excellence Fund make possible some of the university’s most pressing initiatives. This can include faculty research, student programs, campus learning spaces, emergency relief, and more. When you give a Greatest Needs gift, you can feel good knowing it’s accomplishing something powerful. Wherever the need is most urgent, your donation provides immediate support.
Most importantly, share your Lander story on your social media platforms and ours. Tell everyone what it means to be a member of the Lander family and why you love Lander. Together as #OneLander, we can help Lander University continue to thrive!
The generosity of my donors gave me the security to persevere and succeed. For that, I will be eternally grateful. Come December the 13th of 2023, I will walk with my head held high, as an alumna of Lander University. And the very first four-year university graduate of my family!

Having the right people by your side is what you need to succeed. I don’t just represent me, but a combination of everyone who has poured themselves into me, molded me, and paved the path for me to be where I am today.

My lifelong goal is to become a nurse practitioner in emergency medicine for the community of Greenwood. Receiving scholarships from Lander University has meant more to me than I can express. I always say that the scholarships I receive are turning an eighth graders dreams into reality.

To be a Lander scholarship recipient means so much to me because without donors, I would not be where I am today. My scholarship donors saw right through all of the failures and saw my true potential.
