Lander University business students will put their skills and knowledge to good use when they host a marketing and technology seminar for small businesses on Tuesday, Feb. 15, in the conference room of the Greenwood Chamber of Commerce.
The one-hour session, which begins at 6 p.m., will cover a variety of marketing concepts and illustrate how new technologies can profoundly impact small businesses. The session will also address ideas on how to use today's latest business best practices. Topics covered will include: using tools and technologies to identify, track and manage your customers; finding new prospects using social media; and making the most of your existing or new websites that will serve as valuable sales tools.
The seminar will be led by Lander assistant professor of business Anthony P. Santella, who for several years has consulted for Fortune 500 companies as well as small businesses. He will be assisted by several Lander business students who, under Santella's guidance, recently worked on actual projects helping local businesses pilot new ideas and improve profits. Mickey Conway of the SBDC will also participate in the seminar.
"I'm glad to volunteer my services as a way to help these students and impact the Greenwood business community in any way I can," Santella said.
The seminar is free to Chamber members and $10 per person for non-members. Proceeds will go to Lander's business program to help fund future projects to support small businesses. Seating is limited; those interested in attending should RSVP to tsantella@lander.edu.
