Fans of Lander University, Clemson University and the University of South Carolina will have the opportunity to show their school spirit while enjoying some creative topiaries at the South Carolina Festival of Flowers' Topiary & College Team Fan Day.
Scheduled for 6:30 - 8 p.m. Monday, June 13, the event will take place near Countybank Plaza in Uptown Greenwood, with each school's fan zone and activities stationed near their mascot topiaries: the Lander University Bearcat, the GRRR KASASA Clemson Tiger and the Fighting Gamecock.
Representatives from each university, including alumni, faculty, staff, athletes and coaches, will be on hand at the event to greet fans and cheer on the friendly rivalry.
The event will include music, family-friendly games and prizes. Vendors will be on site selling food and beverages. Attendees may also have their photos taken with university mascots, who will make appearances during the gathering.
"We invite the entire community to join us for Fan Day and show their school pride by wearing team colors," said Debbie Dill, assistant director of Lander Alumni Affairs and Fan Day event co-coordinator. "The topiaries are a major part of the South Carolina Festival of Flowers, and this is a great opportunity to see them up close while having a lot of fun cheering on your team. It's an event the whole family can enjoy."
