Lander University will dedicate its new Jeff May Complex on Montague Avenue on Tuesday, Sept. 20, officially opening the impressive 28-acre recreation, wellness and sports center.
The dedication will take place at the Stephen B. Dolny Stadium beginning at 5 p.m. There will be tours of the complex and refreshments after the ceremony.
Lander's Board of Trustees voted unanimously to name the facility to honor Jeff May who has been associated with the university for more than 40 years. He came to Lander as a student and made his mark as an All-American athlete. After graduating, May held several administrative positions and, in 1997, he was named Director of Athletics.
In addition to the Dolny baseball stadium, the facility includes softball and soccer fields, 12 tennis courts with a pavilion and a track for walking and jogging.
The dedication ceremony will be open to the public.
