Lander University associate professor of biology T.D. Maze points to DNA extracted from the cheek cells of Noah Rueda as the middle school student looks on. Rueda was a participant in Maze's forensics camp, one of the Fuji summer science and math enrichment programs that Lander offers each year for the benefit of students in grades four through 12. Forensics camp students learned how DNA technology is used to solve crimes, as well as other techniques used by law enforcement. They also participated in a "crime scene investigation" and presented the "evidence" they obtained in a mock trial.
