Lander University has inducted four graduating seniors and a service dog into Sigma Tau Delta, the English honor society. From left, Amy Strickland, of Gaston; Andi Mills, of Honea Path, and her service dog, Mr. Tibbs; Rose Cox, of Greenwood; and Andrew Dosher, of Pelzer. To be eligible, students must be English majors or minors and maintain an average of B or higher. Dr. Lillian Craton, associate professor of English, said Tibbs was inducted as an honorary member because "he is a beloved part of our community." Mills was blind for more than four years until undergoing surgeries that restored her eyesight last summer. Tibbs had guided her from classroom to classroom, and now that she can see, he accompanies her as a medical service dog.
