Following their special meeting Sunday evening, Feb. 22, the Lander University Board of Trustees announced that it will continue its discussion of the three finalists for the position of university president.
According to Trustees Chair Jack Lawrence, the Board was impressed with all three candidates, who visited campus last week for meetings with Lander and Greenwood constituents and to interview with Trustees.
"We are extremely pleased with all three of our presidential finalists, and following our interviews this week, it is clear that each possesses a wealth of knowledge and valuable experience in higher education," said Lawrence. He added, "The Board must now take time to fully evaluate each of their strengths and weaknesses so that we can make the best decision for Lander University."
The next president will succeed Dr. Daniel Ball, who will retire on June 30 after serving 15 years as Lander president.
More information will be released by the university as it becomes available.
