The public is invited to join Lander University in celebrating its fifth annual Bearcat Fan Day in Uptown Greenwood on Thursday, June 25 from 5:30 to 8 p.m.
Assistant Alumni Affairs Director Debbie Dill said Fan Day is part of the South Carolina Festival of Flowers, and activities will take place in the shadow of the 11-foot tall Bearcat topiary at the Countybank Plaza, on Main St.
Dill said Lander's official mascot, the Bearcat, will be on hand and available to pose for photos, and Lander cheerleaders will do face painting. Alumni Affairs and Admissions Office staff will also be present.
The musical combo, Jazz 42, of Greenwood, will provide live entertainment and there will be giveaways.
Dill said Bearcat Fan Day celebrates Lander, and she described it as an opportunity for people in the community to learn more about the university, its academic programs and athletics. The event is free and open to the public.
