Individuals who have less than attractive Christmas sweaters in their closets are invited to take them out of mothballs and wear them to an Ugly Christmas Sweater Social and Toy Drive, on Thursday, Dec. 10, to benefit the Bowers-Rodgers Home in Greenwood.
The event, which will be held at Lander's Cambridge Hall, is co-sponsored by Lander University's Young Alumni Council and ConnectYP, Greenwood's Young Professional organization.
Debbie Dill, Lander's assistant director of Alumni Affairs, said tickets are available for $10, and each attendee is expected to bring a cash donation or a toy for children at Bowers-Rodgers. There will be a separate 50-50 raffle to support Lander's Student Wellness Fund.
The social begins at 6:30 p.m., and will feature appetizers and a cash bar. The public is invited, and tickets may be purchased in advance at the Lander Foundation and Alumni Center, 302 Hampton Avenue, in Greenwood.
