Brandy 'Nikki' Bradley, a Lander senior from Gaston, was one of 26 students to return to campus two weeks before the start of the 2018 academic year to take part in an intensive training program for student workers in the university's Information Technology Services (ITS) department. Collectively, the students provide technical support for Lander students, faculty and staff, including staffing the ITS Help Desk for nearly 100 hours per week. Hendrik Booream, the Student Technology Coordinator for ITS at Lander, said the new approach to training is a reflection of the university's refined mission that Lander graduates be well-rounded and prepared to continue their education or launch their careers. "We embraced the mission statement (put forth by Lander President Dr. Richard Cosentino), and developed a week-long program of intensive training, team-building and informational seminars," Booream said.
