Hazing authority David Stollman, speaking at Lander University last week, advised students to resist the pressure to participate in initiation rituals associated with membership in a fraternity, sorority or other group - especially rituals that involve drinking. "Don't ever drink because someone encouraged or forced you to," said Stollman, who has spoken on campuses in Canada and 49 of the 50 U.S. states. Stollman appealed to those present not to subject others to hazing, either. "You carry the name of this institution, or your team, of your sorority or fraternity, all with you. Do that which is right," he said.
