Panelists share their personal insight into the meaning of black history during a January 31 event held at Lander University. The program kicked off a month long series of programs designed to provide students and the community with opportunities to discover more about African American history and culture.
Moderated by Lander student, Robert Kelly, president of the student organization Minorities on the Move, the panel of community leaders offered a glimpse into their life stories, urging the younger generation to listen to their grandparents' stories of the struggles they lived through. "Black history is American history," Senator Floyd Nicholson observed.
