Birmingham, Ala. - Today Birmingham-based company Atlas Senior Living is promoting a former Lander University student and current Vice President of Operations Marcus Covar to Executive Vice President. Covar will be overseeing and supporting all Atlas operations.
Covar has been a part of Atlas Senior Living since its inception in 2013 and has played a significant role in supporting the growth and operations of the company.
Covar received his Bachelor of Science from Lander University in Finance and his Economics Certificate in Gerontology. Covar began his career in senior living in 2007 as a Sales and Marketing Manager, achieving 100 percent occupancy in the Augusta market within months. In 2009 he was promoted to Executive Director, being one of the youngest in the eastern division.
Marcus served on corporate initiative committees to assist other senior living communities in implementation of new policy procedures and best practices as determined annually by the company. Marcus also served as a subject matter expert on company training teams and was selected as a regional transition Executive Director to other communities as they were acquired, including the on-boarding of new Executive Directors.
Under his leadership, two communities achieved 100% occupancy and the highest clinical scores in the division. Since then, he has always led his teams with a commitment to exceed resident and associate satisfaction.
Atlas Senior Living owns and operates 11 communities in Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, South Carolina, and Tennessee.
