Forty-five education majors were recognized during a recent pinning ceremony held inside the Abney Cultural Center Auditorium at Lander University.
Led by Dr. Judith Neufeld, dean of the College of Education, students walked across the stage to receive their pins as family and friends watched from the auditorium's seating. Professors and mentors shared warm memories and words of encouragement with the new educators, urging them to continue serving as role models while pursuing a career fostering the development of children.
"This group is highly sought-after," noted Dr. Neufeld, "with eighty-seven percent already having a signed contract with a school system."
Those receiving a final master's degree were also recognized with a hooding ceremony symbolizing the successful completion of their graduate studies. For more information about Lander University's Department of Teacher Education, visit Lander University's website at www.lander.edu.
