Lander University officials announced a slight modification to its Fall 2020 academic calendar.
While face-to-face instruction will resume with the start of the fall semester in August, it will end on Nov. 25 at the beginning of the Thanksgiving break. The Nov. 30 day of instruction and final exams for the semester will be moved to fully online instruction.
Lander's campus housing and dining hall will remain open through the end of the fall semester for students who choose to stay on campus.
"After their Thanksgiving break, Lander students will not be required to return to campus and the remainder of the semester will be led online," said Dr. Scott Jones, Lander Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs. "Like many colleges and universities throughout the country, we are taking these steps to avoid a possible wave of the COVID-19 pandemic late in the fall, which some scientists have forecast."
