Self Regional Healthcare Board of Trustees welcomes two new members and the return of one member. William David Hastings, retired president and CEO, Mount Vernon Mills Inc., and William Brent Parris, plant manager, Eaton Corp., were appointed by Gov. Henry McMaster to a serve six-year term on the board, and John B. Thompson, retired executive, Eaton Corp., was invited to serve an additional six years with the board after the completion of his term two years ago.
Individuals who serve on the Self Regional Healthcare Board of Trustees are entrusted with selecting optimal strategies for the direction of the organization, and for the future of health care in the region.
Additionally, the board has three members whose terms have been fulfilled in 2020. Linda T. McDonald, H. Joseph Chandler and James M. Manley Jr., have completed their terms with the Self Regional Healthcare Board of Trustees.

David Hastings '78
David is the retired former president and CEO of Mount Vernon Mill Inc. He is a member of the University of South Carolina Board of Visitors, as well as a past coach of Toros soccer, and a member of First Presbyterian Church.
He is a 34-year Greenwood resident with his wife, Kelly, former co-chair of the Self Regional Healthcare Foundation's Midwinter Ball and past president of Danse de Noel. They have three children - a daughter, Lacy Galloway, and two sons, Hunter and Nicholas, and recently welcomed a new grandchild to their family.
Brent Parris
Brent is a plant manager at Eaton Corp. He is a member of the Greenwood Promise Board of Directors, Greenwood Genetic Center Inclusion and Diversity Council and a church elder at New Covenant Church.
In the past he has served on the boards at United Way of Greenwood and Abbeville Counties (chair), Beyond Abuse, Lander University Foundation and the Greenwood Chamber of Commerce.
He and his wife, Monica, have lived in Greenwood for 15 years and have two daughters, Adrian and Abigail, a grandson, Cameron, and a granddaughter, Ava, on the way.
John B. Thompson '86
John is a retired executive with Eaton Corp. where he held the title of director of Global Manufacturing Programs for the electrical sector.
He has lived in Greenwood for 47 years, and he and his wife, Susan, have two daughters and two grandchildren. John has also served on the Board of Trustees at Main Street United Methodist Church since 2018.
