Five Lander University employees were honored for their work during the annual Staff Excellence Awards breakfast held on Wednesday, Dec. 9. The Staff Excellence Awards are presented annually to staff members who demonstrate outstanding dedication to their work and exemplify the university's family spirit. Winners are selected on the basis of nomination by their co-workers.
The 2020 Staff Excellence Award winners are Justin Burger, director of marketing and productions for Lander Athletics; Ebonee Dendy, director of CARE and advocacy for Student Affairs; Jessica Partlow, employment coordinator for Human Resources; Donna Knight, administrative assistant for the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences; and Kenneth Calliham, assistant director of university transfer for Lander Admissions.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the breakfast was offered to employees on a "grab-and-go" basis, while the presentation was livestreamed for employees to view from their workspaces.
"Your work is greatly appreciated by our campus community," said Lander University President Richard Cosentino in his remarks to the staff. "Even in the face of COVID-19, we have more students attending Lander University than at any other time in history, receiving a high-quality education. This is made possible because of the hard work of our staff members."
