Emerald High School senior Taylin Hall, who will attend Lander University in the fall on a South Carolina Teaching Fellow Scholarship, tries on a Lander cap at the College of Education’s first Educator Signing Day Ceremony, held on Thursday, May 5. Twelve other high school seniors from across the state also participated in the ceremony. Assistant Professor of Education Dr. Tamara Pack, who served as coordinator of the event, said it exceeded her expectations. “Seeing the families and their excitement about their student choosing the teaching profession made my heart swell with pride,” she said. “We desperately need teachers, and being part of an event that celebrates that career path is awesome. We will absolutely be having this event again next year!”
