Lander to Host Holocaust Remembrance Day Program

The community is invited to attend a program to mark Holocaust Remembrance Day, hosted by the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences at Lander University, Thursday, Jan. 26, at 3:30 p.m. in Room 300 of the Carnell Learning Center.

 Dr. Clifford C. Cain, the Harrod-C.S. Lewis Professor of Religious Studies Emeritus at Westminster College of Missouri, will give a talk titled “To Remember and Respond.” Cain will take questions following the talk.

Cain was appointed by Missouri Gov. Mike Parson to serve on Missouri’s Holocaust Education and Awareness Commission. His areas of expertise and books address topics in theology; science, the environment and religion; and inter-religious dialogue. He earned degrees from Princeton Theological Seminary, Vanderbilt University, and Rikkyo University of Japan, and did graduate work at the University of Leiden in the Netherlands.

Cain was ordained by the American Baptist Churches USA, and his credentials have been recognized by the Presbyterian Church USA. He has served as chaplain, theologian-in-residence, and pastor in the United States, the Netherlands and Indonesia.
