“Taking Plastic, Cosmetic, and Reconstructive Surgery to the Next Level” is the topic of a community program at Lander University on October 24.
Sponsored by Lander, the Greenwood Chamber of Commerce and Self Regional Healthcare, the program is part of the “Medically Speaking” series which addresses a variety of health concerns and technological advances.
Drs. James L. “Beau” Fowler and John “Wes” Culpepper, of Lakelands Plastic Surgery in Greenwood, discussed how advances in technology and medical procedures are offering hope to patients needing procedures after health concerns as varied as skin or breast cancer, fractures and injuries from accidents and injuries, congenital birth defects, and burns. “Plastic surgery helps us restore form and function,” Fowler said. “This gives a good appearance and helps the body function.”
Dr. Matt Logan, president and CEO of Self Regional Healthcare, said having a breadth of options in plastic, cosmetic and reconstructive surgery is critical to the health and well-being of people living in the Lakelands. “These are very important services,” he said, “and we are fortunate to have these in Greenwood.”
