The design works of seniors graduating from Lander University in May with the Bachelor of Design (BDes) in Graphic Design are currently on display at the Lander Art Gallery inside the Abney Cultural Center. Students were present to discuss their designs with family and friends at a reception held on April 18.
Those exhibiting included Maggie Ahern, of Easley; Peyton Baughman, of Lyman; Jaxon Brandt, of Greenwood; Favio Delgado, of Fort Mill; Taj Diamati, of Greenwood; Ky Erin, of Piedmont; Katelynn Green, of Easley; and Betsy Sutcliffe, of Columbia.
Betsy Sutcliffe said, “My exhibit features a wide range of styles from a higher class to a more vintage style featuring different logos, branding, and packaging.” The Columbia native wants to work for a graphics company or ad agency doing graphic design or photography.
Jaxon Brandt, whose exhibit included automobile-themed designs hopes to start his own brand, “NOXA.”
In addition to being a versatile graphic designer, Ky Erin said he “wants to write a book, be in a movie and win an Oscar.”
The BDes program is a professional degree for students seeking careers in the cutting-edge field of graphic design. The degree provides students with the tools, skills, knowledge, and experience to express creatively and develop ideas through the latest design technologies including traditional, new, and interactive media.
The exhibition runs through Wednesday, May 1st and is open to the public at no charge. Learn more about the BDes program by visiting www.lander.edu/bdes.
