Lander University’s College of Business celebrated its students and faculty Friday afternoon during the annual awards and recognition ceremony.
“This academic year, 1,050 students were enrolled in the Lander College of Business,” said Dr. Lloyd Willis, Interim Dean of the College of Business during the ceremony.
“Today we’re celebrating the very best of them, and we’re also celebrating our outstanding faculty. You will hear about the individual achievements of our faculty members, but as a group, they have just successfully completed an (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) reaccreditation process that required hundreds of hours of work from everyone involved. This accreditation assures that our students are receiving a quality education that is recognized globally. Only 6% of all business colleges and schools worldwide hold this distinction and Lander University is proud of the faculty who help us keep it.”
The college presented the following students with awards for academic excellence.
The college also presented the following faculty excellence awards.
Friday’s ceremony also included the induction of 10 undergraduate and two graduate students to the Beta Gamma Sigma honor society. Beta Gamma Sigma is an honor society for business schools accredited by AACSB and students must be in the top 10% of their class in order to be a member.
The College’s three graduate assistants: Leela Hawkins, Jade Pardee and Emilia Peterson were also recognized.
