Lander University’s Parent and Family Involvement Day on Saturday, Sept. 28, will feature a range of activities designed to give parents and their students an opportunity to enjoy campus life together.
Check-in will begin at 10 a.m. and will be followed by tours of the Art Gallery in the Cultural Center, a lecture on the history of Lander by Lisa Wiecki and Dr. David Mash, walking tours of campus and lunch in the University’s newly renovated dining hall.
In the afternoon, guests can attend a 3 p.m. Lady Bearcats soccer game at the Van Taylor Stadium and enjoy live music by the band Dixie Gray from 4 – 6:30 p.m. on the University’s Plaza while sampling local Greenwood cuisine.
“At Lander University we value the relationships that students have with their families, and we support our students in helping their families recognize the benefits to their educational pathways and personal growth opportunities. We have designed a Parent and Family Involvement Day for parents to visit their students in celebration of the start of a successful academic year,” said Dr. Amanda Darden, vice president for Student Experience and Quality Assurance.
“Our hope is that parents will visit their students’ residence halls and embrace the beauty our campus holds by being on campus with their students to create lasting memories with loved ones,” she said.
