Lander 2Day is a mix of campus news and short stories in two minutes or less.

Lander has earned the Gold Standard from the South Carolina Department of Veterans Affairs — the highest recognition available through the state’s Military Academic Recognition Program. Lander was one of just two traditional, four-year public universities in South Carolina to earn the designation, recognizing its support for veterans, service members and military-connected students.

Two College of Education leaders are also taking Lander’s expertise beyond campus. Dean of the College of Education Dr. Stephen Bismarck and Assistant Professor Dr. Dawn Hawkins have been selected for a 12-state coalition focused on strengthening educator preparation, work-based learning, and pathways into the teaching profession.

Meanwhile, senior Emalie White is sharing a story close to home through her children’s book, But Who Made the Farmer? Inspired by her grandfather and her family’s agricultural roots, the book introduces young readers to farming through a story of family, hard work and faith.

And Lander Esports shows that success goes beyond winning. Since 2023, the program has competed in 15 conference championships, winning eight, while raising its team GPA from 2.7 to 3.3. The program emphasizes communication, discipline and time management — skills players can carry well beyond competition.
