SELECT YOUR HOUSING
After you commit to Lander, you will receive a step-by-step guide on how to apply for campus housing and pay your housing application fee. To start the housing application, please log into MyLander and click the Housing Portal on the top right.
All first-time freshman are required to live on campus at Lander University. Waivers of this requirement are available to students who qualify. Students who meet the requirements of a waiver must complete the Housing Exemption Request form via the Housing Portal. The form is located under “Available Forms”. Please click here for exemption requirements.
SIGN UP FOR ORIENTATION
All new freshman and transfer students are required to attend Orientation before the semester begins. The orientation is designed to educate you on Lander policies and procedures, allow you to meet with an academic advisor, orient you with the campus and take care of other business before classes begin.
APPLY FOR FINANCIAL AID
Finding your financial fit is an important part of choosing the right university, and one of the most important aspects of your financial fits is aid. We recommend as many types of funding as possible including grants, scholarships, loans, work study, and student employment to help offset the investment of college.
Submit your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to be considered for a full range of financial aid at Lander University. All families are encouraged to apply because some merit-based aid requires a completed FAFSA. Lander FAFSA code is 003435. The FAFSA opens October 1.
Be sure to check MyLander and check your university email account regularly once you submit the FAFSA in case additional information or verification is required to complete your financial aid award.
The Office of Financial Aid assists eligible students and families in obtaining the necessary funds to pursue a course of study at Lander University. In addition to providing information and guidance with the completion of required documents, our financial aid counselors can help you determine your eligibility for a comprehensive array of federal, state, and institutional aid. For additional information, please visit Lander Financial Aid.
FINAL HIGH SCHOOL TRANSCRIPT
All freshman students are admitted to Lander contingent upon graduation from high school. In order to fulfill this requirement, a final official high school transcript with the graduation dates and final GPA listed should be submitted. For South Carolina residents, this is also necessary to qualify for the Palmetto Fellows, LIFE, HOPE, and other state scholarships and aid. Transcripts should be submitted to admissions@lander.edu.
DUAL ENROLLMENT/AP/IB CREDIT
Students who have taken Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate examinations or dual enrollment courses may receive college credit with the proper grade or test score. For dual enrollment credit, final official transcripts must be submitted from the university or college where the credit was received. AP and IB official score reports or official transcripts should also be submitted to the Office of Admissions for credit review.
COMPLETE HEALTH SERVICES REQUIREMENTS
The health and wellness of our students is a top priority. All students who attend Lander are required to submit a completed Health Services form to the Lander University Wellness Center prior to registration for classes. A physician-signed immunization record (or certificate of immunization) is also required. The form can be accessed here.
