Political Science, Public Administration Emphasis

Lander offers a political science major with a public administration emphasis for students interested in employment with in local, state, or federal government, or non-profit employment.

The emphasis will also prepare students to pursue the Master's Degree in Public Administration, the professional degree for government and non-profit administration.

Goals and Objectives

Political science majors will:

  1. demonstrate knowledge in most of the generally-recognized areas of the discipline;
  2. demonstrate political analysis skills;
  3. demonstrate skills essential for success in careers related to political science;
  4. demonstrate effective citizenship; and
  5. demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively.
