Once you have researched and selected your study abroad program, applying is a simple two-step process.
You can access the Lander Study Abroad Application form here.
- There are two choices available, one for semester / summer Study Abroad programs, and one for Study Tours. Choose the one that corresponds to your preference.
- Read the application instructions and then submit all required items by the application deadline.
- Ensure your application is complete.
- You must click "Submit" for your application to be complete and ready for review.
- Wait for a response: The Director of Study Abroad will evaluate your application and respond to you with one of the following designations:
- Approved: Your application has been approved by the Office of Study Abroad, and you may now continue with the application process.
- Conditionally Approved: The conditional approval is based on missing application materials (such as a recommendation) or a question about whether your application satisfies the eligibility requirements (such as GPA). Contact the Director of Study Abroad with any questions about your conditional approval. Your application status will be updated once all conditions are met.
- Revise and Resubmit: Your application was not approved; you will have to take further action in order to be considered. The Director of Study Abroad will be in touch with additional instructions.
- For a Study Tour, the Faculty leader may request that you complete a short supplemental questionnaire.
- For a semester or summer Lander partner program, you will be given a link to apply directly to the host institution overseas.
- For a semester or summer affiliate program, you will be given a link to the USAC or ASA online application page.
- Complete the program application: Read the application instructions and then submit all required items for a complete application by the program application deadline.
- Wait for a response: The administrators of the particular program will review your submitted application and let you know whether you have been accepted, provisionally accepted, waitlisted, or not accepted.
- Please note: Students who are approved for a Lander Study Tour may need to enroll in a class that serves as a prerequisite. For a Winter Break or a Summer Study Tour, these classes are typically offered during the semester before the trip. For a Spring or Fall Break Study Tour, they are typically offered the semester during which the trip takes place.
