Employment Application Policy for Staff Positions

Directions

We are located at 511 Willson Street, Greenwood.

From the main Lander entrance on Calhoun Avenue:

Turn onto Crews Street. (Located between the two fountains.)
Go straight thru the first four way stop.
At the second four way stop take a left onto Willson Street.
Go approximately 0.3 miles and our office will be on your left.

Please note: Parking is limited in our driveway, if you are coming in to fill out an application or meeting with a staff member we request that you park in the lot behind our office.

To get to the lot: drive past the house and turn left onto Felder Street. Take an immediate left and keep left to get to the parking lot straight ahead.

FAQs

Will I get a phone call/letter when the position I applied for is filled?

Applicants who select the email notification option on NEO-GOV will receive an email once the position applied for is filled.

What are types of insurance is available to permanent positions?

Health/dental/optional life/dependent life spouse/dependent life child/vision/long term disability and AFLAC are offered to permanent employees based on eligibility.

How do I apply for a job in the Dining Hall?

Lander contracts with Aramark for dining services. You may visit Dining Hall Employment for Aramark employment opportunities.

Do you keep applications/resumes on file?

We do not keep resumes or applications on file. To be considered for a position, you must submit an application online during the opening and closing dates.

What are the methods of advertising for vacant positions?

Vacant positions are advertised on careers.sc.gov.

What student worker positions are available?

All student work study positions must go through the Financial Aid Office. The Office of Human Resources occasionally has work study positions available in our office, but they are listed with Financial Aid when available.

Can I fax or email my application?

No, applications are only accepted online using careers.sc.gov.

What if I don't have a computer at home?

You can visit your local library or there is a computer kiosk in The Office of Human Resources that is available during our business hours.

How long does a temporary position last?

Typically, a temporary position may not exceed 12 months without a break.

How will I know if I am selected for an interview?

The hiring supervisor contacts selected candidates by phone or email to schedule an interview time.

How does the interview process work?

Once a job closes, the hiring supervisor/hiring committee receives the applications for review. They determine who is awarded an interview. The hiring supervisor will then contact those applicants to set up interview times. Depending on the position, a test, individual, or panel interview may be conducted.

How will I know if I am selected for a job?

After the hiring supervisor has selected a candidate, Human Resources completes a background check, then the Classification and Compensation Manager approves the compensation rate. Then the supervisor will contact the candidate to make an offer.

Can I speak with the hiring supervisor of the position I applied for?

If you are chosen for an interview, you will be contacted by the hiring supervisor. Due to the number of applications received, phone calls are discouraged.
