Graphic Design

The BDes degree in Graphic Design is a professional degree for students seeking careers in the exciting and cutting-edge field of Design. The degree provides students with the tools, skills, knowledge, and experience to express creatively and develop ideas through the latest design technologies. The curriculum ensures that all students achieve professional competencies in design and gain experience traditional, new, and interactive media. Graduates will be prepared to launch their career in a design related field such as Graphic Design, Web Design, Interactive & Mobile Design, New Media, Motion Graphics, etc. or pursue an advanced degree such as MDes and DDes.

Students must earn a “C” or better in 100-level art and design courses before proceeding to the sophomore studio courses.
Students will complete a BDes Candidacy Review at the end of the sophomore year and a BDes Review at the end of their final semester.
Students must earn a “C” or better in all program requirement courses.
Students may not take more than 3 studio courses per semester without permission from department chair.
Coursework must include at least 30 hours earned in 300 or above level courses, of which 12 hours must be in the major.
